Nadia is a global educator having worked and studied education, race, organizational systems, and leadership for 17 years. She has led diverse schools, teams and projects in primary, secondary and post-secondary schools throughout the world. Nadia is also the founder of a consultancy and holds a doctorate in leadership, change management, institutional mechanisms and systemic racism. Originally from Ontario, Nadia is a proud first-generation Canadian of Guyanese heritage. She is passionate about disrupting the pipeline of racialized individuals to the prison system in Canada and is excited to contribute to the phenomenal work of the North Shore Restorative Justice Society by bringing not only professional and academic knowledge, research and skills, but also decades of lived experience as a racialized woman of the Black Diaspora in Canada. When not at work or studying, Nadia can be found volunteering, participating in community events, exploring nature or sipping coffee in a quiet spot.
NSRJ honours the Elders and Knowledge Holders, past, present and future, and acknowledges with gratitude that our work takes place in communities situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam First Nations.
