Hello readers! My name is Elaina (pronouns: they/them) and I'm an integrated communications and operations administrator. On one hand, I help design internal documents (e.g., annual reports), external communications (e.g., fundraising posters), and update our website. In addition, I also facilitate and plan for the Restorative Justice in Education Initiative (RJEI) programs. This includes the Circles in Schools program and Professional Development Opportunities. As a recent psychology and dialogue graduate from Simon Fraser University, I would like to dedicate my work exploring relationships across generations, unlearning trauma from my own experiences, and trying to stand in solidarity with those who experience(d) oppression. This includes learning how to navigate conflict in restorative and transformative ways. I am humbled and grateful to work with these amazing people at NSRJ - they have guided me in more ways than I can count. As an eldest sibling, a friend, a partner, a colleague, a grandchild, a student, and a community member, I hope to bring all of my learnings and heart to you and all of my relations.
NSRJ honours the Elders and Knowledge Holders, past, present and future, and acknowledges with gratitude that our work takes place in communities situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam First Nations.
