For Sophie, discovering Restorative Justice felt like finding a missing puzzle piece - a way to bring together her passion for social justice, youth work, and community-building. With a background in International Relations, she is particularly interested in how global theories of development and social change can translate into meaningful action at the local level. Within her role, she is committed to creating spaces where educators and youth alike feel supported to approach challenging conversations with curiosity, compassion, and accountability. Her approach to restorative work is grounded in anti-oppression, empathy, and a belief that meaningful change begins with relationships. Growing up in North Vancouver, Sophie was fortunate to participate in programs that educated and empowered young people, and she is grateful for the opportunity to help create those same experiences for folks in a community she cares deeply about. Outside of NSRJ, Sophie can usually be found with a book, making something crafty, or somewhere on the trails - running, hiking, or biking.
