Kara is currently in her last year of law school and has a background in psychology, religion, and policy research. She has worked with various organizations (in Canada, Kenya, and the United States) that have sought to provide communities with alternatives to the criminal and civil justice system over the past decade.
Kara is grateful to the NSRJS for giving her the opportunity to volunteer as a victim-offender mediation facilitator. Her time at the NSRJS has given her a better understanding of the important role that restorative justice can play in repairing societal/personal wounds and conflicts that do not always receive sufficient attention in our courtrooms.
NSRJ honours the Elders and Knowledge Holders, past, present and future, and acknowledges with gratitude that our work takes place in communities situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam First Nations.
