Freydis has a diversity of experience in corporate communications and public relations, law and regulatory affairs, community relations, corporate development and government relations with TELUS and its predecessor. She served on the Canada-BC Community Access Board, the Canada-BC Treaty Negotiation Advisory Committee, the Business Council of BC, the Parliament, Business and Labour Trust, and was a director of Canada Place Corporation, the Pacific Association for Continuing Education, Main Dance, the North Shore Safety Council, New Media BC (now DigiBC: Digital + Wireless Industries) and the advisory board of Telefilm Canada’s New Media Fund. She was a co-organizer of SFU’s Imagine BC dialogues, and His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visits to Vancouver, and is a member of the Vancouver Council of CARE Canada..
Freydis values the importance of providing an opportunity for individual voices to be heard, and of compassionate heart-felt reflection and action in creating the opportunity to build resilient individuals, organizations, families and communities. She has taken circle training with Kay Pranis, and welcomes the role of restorative justice in our society.
